ITINERARY
Sacred Valley Vip Itinerary
In our Sacred Valley tour VIP, we will take you through some of the most impressive archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley, as well as give you a taste of local culture and cuisine.
The difference between our Sacred Valley Tour and the Sacred Valley Tour VIP is the extra attractions visited. In our Sacred Valley VIP, we visit Chichero, Maras Salt Flats, Moray, Ollantaytambo and Pisaq.
Here are the attractions we will visit:
Moray:
This unique archaeological site consists of a series of circular terraces that were likely used for agricultural experimentation by the Incas. The terraces are arranged in concentric circles and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Maras Salt Flats:
Also known as Salinas de Maras, are a unique and beautiful destination located in the Sacred Valley of Peru. They are located about 48 km from Cusco and are easily accessible by car or bus. The Maras salt flats consist of thousands of small salt pans that have been used for salt production since Incan times. The salt pans are fed by a natural spring that flows from the mountains and the salt is harvested by local families who work the pans by hand. The salt is harvested using traditional methods and is then sold in local markets or exported to other countries.
Chinchero:
The final stop of our tour is Chinchero, which is about 30 km from Ollantaytambo. This town is known for its weaving traditions, and archaeological site, which features a colonial church built on top of Incan foundations.
Ollantaytambo:
This town is about one hour from Pisaq. Ollantaytambo is considered to be one of the last “Living Inca Town” because its inhabitants live according to uses and customs inherited from their ancestors. Here, we will visit its impressive Incan fortress, which was built to protect the Sacred Valley from invaders and will have some time to explore the colorful artisan market.
Pisaq:
From Cusco, we will head to the town of Pisaq, which is located about 32 km from Cusco. Here we will visit the Pisaq Archaeological Park, which is home to some of the most impressive Incan ruins in the region due to its perching agricultural terraces.
Our tour to the Sacred Valley will be complemented with a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba. The lunch will be a delight as it is prepped with fresh, local produce.
